Four teens seriously injured in Atchison County wreck

ROCK PORT, Mo. - The Missouri State Highway Patrol says multiple teens were seriously injured in a two-vehicle wreck in Atchison County.

The Patrol says 18-year-old Vanessa Fierras, 18-year-old Madisen Hansen, 19-year-old Gregory Ahmad, and 19-year-old Traishon Schmieding, all of Lincoln, Neb., wrecked two miles north of Rockport at 7:56 a.m. Sunday.

Authorities say Fierras was driving a 2012 Hyundai Elantra on I-29 when it struck a semi-truck which was being towed.

The Elantra overturned, ejecting everyone. Fierras was taken to Mosaic Life Care in Saint Joseph by Lifeflight. All other occupants were taken to Lincoln, Neb. Hospital. None of the teens were wearing a seatbelt.
